CURRENT COVID-19 PROTOCOL

The safety of our staff, clients, and volunteers are of utmost importance to us, and in an effort to serve our community in the safest way possible, we require all volunteers to wear masks and maintain social distancing while on our site. We thank you for your understanding and continued support of UP Orlando, and our wishes are that you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy during this time.

Monday-Saturday 8:00 am - 6:30 pm

Sunday 10:00 am - 6:30 pm

While we are able to provide gloves, we ask that volunteers bring their own mask or face covering.

Sanitation Assistant

Volunteers use the campus cleaning checklist to complete daily, weekly, or monthly projects. Duties include but are not limited to: Mop up spills and leaks around campus to prevent accidents. Use rags and wipes to clean any portion of the store, concentrating on those areas susceptible to high human contact (i.e. door handles) or traffic. Remove trash from offices, grocery program, and exterior of building Sweep, mop, and remove trash from restrooms Assisting with various pest control measures Sweep and remove trash/debris from parking lot

Member Marketplace Assistant

Assist in product placement, straightening, maintenance, and appearance of products on shelves and racks, keep aisles clear, re-stock shelves with merchandise left near the register. Inventory new product arrivals and assist in labeling price on new items. Assist donors to and from their vehicles with incoming donations. Unpack the donations, check for damage, and organize clothing racks.

Front End Volunteer

Volunteers assist the cashiers by bagging groceries for clients as they go through the checkout line, and help clients to their vehicle. During slow times, consolidate the bread on the bread racks by the registers, and bring down new bread racks from the warehouse as necessary. Volunteers also assist in product placement, straightening, maintenance, and appearance of products on shelves and racks, keep aisles clear, re-stock shelves with merchandise left near the register. Inventory new product arrivals.

Volunteer Group Experience

Thank you for teaming UP to end poverty for good! TeamUP 360 captures our daily volunteer needs, most of which take place in our Member Share Grocery Program (MSGP). Volunteers assist in any of the following areas: Produce: stocking the produce coolers and creating beautiful displays for the fresh produce we receive daily. Freezers: cleaning, organizing, and stocking our display freezers. Stocking Shelves: cleaning, organizing, and making sure our aisles are full and appealing to our members. Warehouse: Sort product coming in from our Distribution Center, assist with pricing, and breakdown boxes using our cardboard bailer. Bulk: organizing and pricing wholesale items through the Grocery Program. Member Marketplace: processing incoming clothing donations and organizing aisles of household items, school/art supplies, and other goodies. Campus Clean-up: Help us keep our campus beautiful! Volunteers help with various sanitation duties, including parking lot pick-up, gathering carts, sweeping, mopping, and wiping down services. Note for Groups: If you are signing up with a group or team, please download this Volunteer Waiver, print a copy for everyone in your group, and have them bring the signed waiver on project day.

Volunteer Orientation

Thank you for registering for Volunteer Orientation! Individual volunteers provide crucial support to our daily operations, and we want to make sure everyone is trained on the proper safety techniques and procedures in our Member Share Grocery Program. Here are a few things you need to know for Orientation: 1. Orientation begins at 2:00 pm, please be on time. Doors close at 2:10 pm, and you will have to reschedule for the next available date. 2. Where to go: We will meet in Suite D, located next to the Member Marketplace. 3. Adjudicated volunteers must bring documentation of their charge or offense. You will not be able to volunteer without showing that paperwork. Please be advised, as outlined on the volunteer application: We do not accept violent or sexually-based offenses.
