Volunteers assist with member check-in, answer questions, and provide a warm and friendly atmosphere for everyone who enters our doors. This is one of the most important roles in the organization, because it is so impactful to our members!

Grocery Assistant- After Hours

As an assistant in our Member Share Grocery Program (MSGP), volunteers may serve in any of the following areas: Produce: stocking the produce coolers and creating beautiful displays for the fresh produce we receive daily. Freezers: cleaning, organizing, and stocking our display freezers. Stocking Shelves: cleaning, organizing, and making sure our aisles are full and appealing to our members.  Warehouse: Sort product coming in from our Distribution Center, assist with pricing, and breakdown boxes using our cardboard baler. Bulk: organizing and pricing wholesale items through the Grocery Program. Member Marketplace: processing incoming clothing donations and organizing aisles of household items, school/art supplies, and other goodies. Campus Clean-up: Help us keep our campus beautiful! Volunteers help with various sanitation duties, including parking lot pick-up, gathering carts, sweeping, mopping, and wiping down surfaces.

Welcome Desk Training

As a part of the Membership Team, the Customer Relations Specialist (CRS) will be the primary point of contact for participants in the Member Share Grocery Program (MSGP). As such, the CSR provides excellent customer service and displays great communication skills. Please read the following information carefully, as there are additional qualifications and requirements for this position. Time Committment Because of the training and probationary period, we ask for a minimum 100-hour committment of volunteers. Please be aware, workforce volunteers with a consistent schedule and availability will be given priority for the Customer Relations Specialist position. This means, your schedule may change on short notice. Probationary Period There is a 2-week probationary period to ensure they are progressing successfully. STEP Recruiter Assistant

The Success Training Employment Program (STEP) is a 3-phase program dedicated to enhancing job-readiness skills. The first phase is made up of in-class discussion-based learning in the areas of Emotional Intelligence, Empowerment Training, Workplace Skills and Job Acquisition. Following graduation from Phase I, students work with our Workforce Development Manager (Phase II) and Success Coach (Phase III) to help them get hired and stay employed. STEP Recruiter Volunteers provide assistance to our STEP Recruiter, completing administrative tasks, preparation for events, sharing STEP at job fairs and events, and scheduling interviews via email and by phone.

Administrative Volunteer

Administrative Volunteers assist with clerical duties such as checking email and voicemail, answering/returning phone calls, filing, data entry, shredding, and other tasks as assigned. Volunteers in this role must have a basic understanding of Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel. Proper phone and email etiquette, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills are also required. Volunteers interested in this role will be contacted for a phone interview, and asked to submit a writing sample.
