Welcome Desk Training

As a part of the Membership Team, the Customer Relations Specialist (CRS) will be the primary point of contact for participants in the Member Share Grocery Program (MSGP). As such, the CSR provides excellent customer service and displays great communication skills. Please read the following information carefully, as there are additional qualifications and requirements for this position. Time Committment Because of the training and probationary period, we ask for a minimum 100-hour committment of volunteers. Please be aware, workforce volunteers with a consistent schedule and availability will be given priority for the Customer Relations Specialist position. This means, your schedule may change on short notice. Probationary Period There is a 2-week probationary period to ensure they are progressing successfully. STEP Assistant

The Success Training Employment Program (STEP) is a program dedicated to enhancing job-readiness skills. The first six weeks is made up of in-class discussion-based learning in the areas of Emotional Intelligence, Empowerment Training, Workplace Skills and Job Acquisition. Following graduation students work with our Workforce Development Manager and Success Coach to help them get hired and stay employed. STEP Volunteers provide one-on-one assistance for students, working with them on resume building, job applications, mock interviews, and other beneficial skills for job placement.

Administrative Volunteer

Administrative Volunteers assist with clerical duties such as checking email and voicemail, answering/returning phone calls, filing, data entry, shredding, and other tasks as assigned. Volunteers in this role must have a basic understanding of Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel. Proper phone and email etiquette, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills are also required. Volunteers interested in this role will be contacted for a phone interview, and asked to submit a writing sample.
